This morning M’s mother passed away after a very long and tough battle with cancer. She was a wonderful woman and she will be missed very much by all that knew her. I just want to take a few minutes to name a handful of the small things that I love (and can often be taken for granted) about my mom.
Her purse is like The Big Comfy Couch (Don’t know what I am talking about? Google it, trust me, I am right about this) Need a pen? Mom’s got one! In need of some tissue? No worries. The hemn of your skirt came undone? Oh look, Mom has a pocket sewing kit in her bag of tricks, imagine that!
The way her house always smells like cinnamon sugar, Mr.Clean or the soup she used to make you whenever you were sick as a child.
When I was 17 and was trying to dress “sexy” she wasn’t afraid to tell me that I am not Nicole Kidman and this is not Moulin Rouge.
She always apologizes after an argument, no matter how small or insignificant it was, and even if it was me who was in the wrong.
Her oh-so-lame and cheesy jokes, half the time I am laughing at how corny they are, not because they are funny.
